Air Suspension

I am new to the site and I have some questions. I have a 2000 EB All Wheel drive with Air Suspension. The Rear is sagging and the air compressor is not running. My question is does the dash light come on if the compressor is inop? Also I removed the FWD drive shft due to rumbling and growling, does this affect the air suspension. Also where is the compressor located?

On my 2001 Expedition, the air compressor is located at the front passenger side of the engine compartment.

It should be just in front and below the fluid washer box.
