Alarm questions

Ok so I have a 97 exp with after market remote start and keyless entry, I notice that there is a THEFT light on the dash that comes on when it does all the checks on start up. It also has an LED next to the steering column (wires have been clipped).

The keyless entry does not have an alarm with it would seem. There is no speaker under the hood and no beep when locking or unlocking the vehicle. Being that there is a theft light that does illuminate I imagine it came with an alarm, am I correct in assuming this? If so is there a way with out replacing my remote start to reconnect the factory alarm or put in an after market alarm that will work with my existing remote start?

mine came with the theft light as well...no alarm from factory...unless alarm option was ordered on truck the light is more of a countermeasure for theft but ppl have still had their truck broken into with the light blinking and nothing sounds...sounds like there was one there with the speaker...with wire cut could be more missing from it
