So...it snowed today here in ak. I realized a few weeks ago my front heater had some issues. I figured ill just let my rear heater do the work...nope. Even with all the vents facing forward, that windshield will take ages to warm up. So my problem is a. My a/c won't get hot, OR cold. Just sucks in outside air. And b. my heat is stuck on low for the front. Motor resistor?? Winter is here and I am not about to rip my dash out, please will someone tell me a faster way to maybe get to the blend door??? (I figured that's what it is and I'm not afraid to butcher things) any ideas please help!

I just read somewhere of someone cutting through the back of the glove box with a dremel or something in order to reach the blend door actuator easier. Personally if it were me though (I also live in a cold state) I would have that dash out this weekend and replace it before it gets colder.

For the amount of work the mod takes, I'll take the dash loose, swing it out of the way and do it the correct way.

The blend door actuator is accessible after removing the console and plastic distribution duct. There is one screw that is a major pain in the back of the duct. You can check the operation of the blend door actuator without removing the duct. Remove the actuator to check the operation of the door.

If you decide to change the blend door I'd change the heater core since I was there.
