I was looking at denalis and suburbans but the fold flat rear seat won me over. I put a deposit down on this '07 Expedition EL. It is going to be a great camp rig and boat tower.
I have been lurking around the forums and I have a list of things to check out before I sign the dotted line.
Check for peeling paint on hood and hatch.
Make sure all the windows work.
Make sure heat and ac works on all settings.
check for hard downshift from 2nd to 1st gear.
The dealership it has no outstanding recalls so i think that means the transmission has been reprogrammed. It is a one owner rig and all the service was done at the dealership. I still plan on replacing the spark plugs ASAP.
Once the stock tires wear out I want to do a two to 3 inch lift and put slightly bigger tires on there. I will be looking around the forum for inspiration. Other than than, normal maintenance only.
