If you have factory NAV system in your Expy you have the 130 amp alternator. If not, you have the 110 amp alternator. It's Ok to upgrade to the 130 alternator, but anything bigger than that and you'll need to upgrade the alternator to battery cable to a heavier gauge.

Usually on most vehicles whether car or truck, the size is different, and so is the brackets and mounting.
Like Hamfisted stated, if the overall size is same, along with the 2 plugs go for the bigger one. Factory cables should be fine as long as your not exceeding 160 amps or so. My question though is why do you need the extra 20 amps, do you have extra accessories?

Unless the amp your installing is huge on power, say 100 watts X4, and high current, rare these days, your 110 amp alternator should charge fine. You may have to start your SUV more often if listening in ACC position, but I've been doing that for years. Do yourself a favor, if you don't already own one, buy a nice battery jumper, preferably over $100.00, you will need it. Stereos with amps kill batteries, and nobody wants to jump start your SUV these days. Oh yeah keep a good thick set of jumpers too, just in case somebody is around to jump you.

I did the 110 to 135 amp swap. Worked ok. Now I'm considering to swap out to a 2015 Superduty 225 amp alt just to power my 2300 watt amplifier.

You good on a stock 130 amp alternator up to 1000 watts rms.

I use to have that pioneer GM9605 whiich is 75x4 600x1 it handled it fine.

I would still run acouple extra ground for the principal of it.

Do a alt mount to battery and a battery to frame ground upgrade. Also one power wire coming directly from the alts power post to battery. 4gauge will be fine better than that 10 gauge string from factory.

I had to upgrade to a Singer 270 alt, as my system grow and 3 XS D6500s
