Hi everybody, glad i finally found this place. Have an 02 Expi, EB with 5.4l. Have an issue with the auto climate control head. When you switch it from dash to floor or def, it doesnt really blow out at any one place. Took it to my local mechanic, and he set the flapper to blow out at def. He said the control head was bad. Is there a way to technically test this control head to see if it actually is bad or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Terry

P.S. Will try and get some pics posted soon, and its the wife's vehicle. I have been given the ultimatem to get it fixed, or else. LOL

Thanks for the help. I will go out and try the diagnostics on it tonight. I was told that is where it was set to blow out on defrost no matter what it was set for. It does blow out up there, even if you set to floor or vents, so I will have to find out what the guy had done. I will let yall know as soon as I can.

OK. I tried the self test, no codes. The original issue was it quit blowing out the vents. It would blow out at defrost, just not out the vents. I was told by somebody, don't remember who, that it could possibly be a vacuum leak. How do I test that?

Ty, Texas. I know where you are from. I am originally from Lubbock. Still have most of my family there.

do a search i know this has been discussed but I would start looking around the firewall for a leak... may be a valve is also on the firewall somewhere may be bad... I know it has been discussed I just cant remember where it is
