Wife's 15' Explorer Sport has this option and did not realize how much I used it until we got the 17' Limited, and from my understanding was only available on the Platinum builds. After finding a very long thread on the F150 forums, I was curious if anyone had taken the plunge and installed ACC to there Expedition?

The radar system has to be installed. Not gonna happen easily. But I do really wish I had it...

I used to have it on a peterbilt years ago and didn't really care for it. Slightly slower driver and you'd be going 60 without noticing it and if someone tapped the brakes for an off ramp the truck's Jake brake would fully apply for apparently no reason. I just wanted the cruise but the company wanted all the safety crap. I did rent a Tahoe last fall and it had that and lane departure and I HATED the lane departure crap. Turn signal and the seats felt like a "by the hour hotel bed", I don't need all that. I know how to look to my right.

Having read through 90% of the thread from the F150 forum, after looking at the top of the dash, it doesn't look like this is possible with the 17' Expy Ltd trucks as I do not see a plate/panel for the HUD that is present in our Explorer Sport. A quick review of Fords website for the 17' model and I don't see any reference even for the Platinum models so probably not much point in pursuing this mod.

My wife's Subaru has this and it's invaluable on long drives especially with other folks don't use their cruise control and their speed varies every minute. Subaru has a couple decades of research into this and it works wonderfully. Not sure about Ford's implementation.
