I just ordered some new tires today and am wondering if anyone has opinions on dynabeads for larger tires on a expy. I have used dynabeads in both of my motorcycles and love being able to mount and "balance" my own tires. I have access to a tire change and balancer (MWR auto craft shop on post) but would like to use the beads if at all possible. I have checked and found that I need 8 ounces per tire for a 285/75/16. Anyone know of any reputable dealers that will sell me 32 ounces of beads for around $50 including shipping?

i've never used them but the only place ive ever heard of them being used was BIG BIG BIG off road tires. 40s+. cause there isnt a tire place that can balance them properly that i know of. but idk why it wouldnt work on smaller tires. but if your getting new rims and dont want the ugly wheel weights ask them to put them internal. like on the inside of the face of the rim. theyll do it. might be a bit more pricey but no weights visible.

I am leaving the stock polished 5 spokes on there even though I would like some new wheels. But my expy isn't for lookin' purty, it is for getting me to work when I can't ride my motorcycle or for getting my family and I to a hidden fishing hole.

The biggest reason that I want to use dynabeads is because they continually put the weight where it needs to be throughout the life of the tire. But like I said I haven't run beads in a car or truck tire.

@jd apparently dynabeads were designed for commercial trucks and rvs. here is a link to there site

http://innovativebalancing.com/

I have used the Dynabead brand (innovative) in both of my motorcycles and have had great luck.

I found some on ebay that are made by counteract balancing. I bought three 10 ounce packages for $29 including shipping. That should be enough to do my Expy tires and the tires on my motorcycle if I lose all the Dynabeads that are already in there.

They replace regular wheel weights and continually (dynamically) balance the tire from the inside. They can help give better tire wear characteristics, and also you won't have to worry about throwing a wheel weight. Another big advantage is that I can mount my own tires and I don't have to worry about using a wheel balancer.

thats true. but its not fun mounting a tire without a tire mounter. and besides a tire balancer is easy to use. haha

I have a tire mounter and balancer that I have access to. I use the MWR auto craft shop here on post. Being in the military has some nice perks. I just wish that I didn't have to pay $6 an hour to put my truck on a lift to work on it.
