automatic 4 wheel drive

does anyone no how to disable the automatic 4 wheeldrive in a 2001 expedition?is it possible

disengage 4 wheel drive

I am wondering the same thing. There is a Vacuum motor on top of the differential, or at least in the haynes manual I have states that, that engages the 4 wheel drive.

I am wondering that if that motor was just unhooked if it would stop the differential from engaging.

Does anyone know if this will work?
