I'm about to replace all the pulleys rollers, tensioner ass'y, and belt.

What should I look out for and how do you release the tension on the tensioner? Thanks in advance.

Most tensioners use a 1/2 ratchet to release the tension. Just insert the ratchet and turn and the tension releases. Hold it there and slide the belt off, then slowly release.

Yep, that's why I carry a 1/2" torque wrench in the back along with my old belt. It'll function as a belt removal should the need arise.

As an aside, it's a 3/8 socket square for an 02 Mustang.

since you'll have it apart, look into an underdrive pulley kit, it changes three pulleys to eliminate some of the extra drag, doesn't change the charging, or cooling char. of the truck either. adds a little "umph". not much of anything else.

Good point! I probably will do the same.

Already spent money on the rollers and pulleys, however, a mechanical fan delete will be done at this time too.

Quick question for you guys. The big nut that holds the mechanical fan, is it left or right hand thread? I'm assuming it left hand but not so sure. TIA.

Actually it is right handed and u need a 1 7/16 open end wrench and I use a hammer to give it a sharp rap and it will loosen right up.

Yes, indeed the mechanical fan main nut is normal thread, lefty for loosy.

I intentionally picked all the rollers and pulley that made by ACdelco in hope that they would made in USA.

I looked at the part, the box says made in Canada, but if you examine the pulleys the inner bearings are all made in China. WTF!

ACDelco has a thumb down from me.
