I'm in the market for a custom tuner and was wondering what the best programmer was? I've been looking at the SCT 3, but I'm not sure what else is out there. Is there something better? Gryphon? Predator?

I'm also wondering about tuners? If there anyone who specializes in Expeditions or are 5.4's pretty much the same? Who writes the best programs? PHP? Troyer? 5 Star?

I'm sure this has been covered somewhat, but there has to be some new info out there.

I've had 3 expeditions, 1 navigator from bone stock tunes to my now supercharged w/ pi swap as listed in sig tuned by www.dirtydirtyracing.com with several different products... right now, mine is SCT tuned.

He carries multiple tuning options, offers remote email tuning, and has great customer service... google his business to see all of the positive stuff in the mustang community of other shop's disasters that he's fixed.

Just my .02, I'm sure there's other great tuners out there too.

I have the Live Wire TS with 7 tunes currently loaded...noticed an immediate performance enhancement...works great as a back up camera...the only problem I've had with with it was the update software...the techs at SCT had the problem fixed within a day...

Does the Live Wire also serve as a Scan Gauge type of panel? And can I change tunes on the fly, or is it the same procedure as the X3?

Yes on the scan and no on the fly...it holds 10 tunes...convenient if I go somewhere and have to tow something back...

I have one from PowerHungryPerformance (Power Hungry Performance - Feed your hunger for POWER!) my '05. I love it. I have three custom tunes on mine. I mostly use the performance tune that gets me the best gas mileage. Running on that tune I get between 18.5 and 19 mpg on the highway. I have gotten as high as 21 mpg on a tank, but that was driving very gingerly on the gas pedal, running nothing but the speed limit etc.
