i would have to say that there is more than 2 bolts holding it in, they may be hidden, but i guarentee there is more than 2!
You dont need to remove any bolts getting the stock grille off. The grille is held in by clips all you have to do is gently pull or grab a flathead screwdriver and gently pry it off. If you are **** like me, i removed the entire grille support section which is all bolted down and some screws are hidden behind the headlights so those have to come off too. All that just so i can line up the aftermarket grille and drill the holes for the rivets to hold it in place nice and straight.

good 2 know, i just ordered billet grill on ebay. Similar to yours lakmflk. I cant wait to replace the stock grill. Get the big ol ford emblem off.
There is a couple little spots on the tail gate that look like they are gonna bubble, right around the plastic liscence plate insert. Im gonna have all the emblems removed and repaint the tail gate. Although i am proud to have an expy, I think it'll look killer without all the dealer logo's and ford markings.

Grill showed up today, got top 1/2 done, but bottom i have to cut, cuz my Eddie has the front plug in for battery, and block heater (i guess). So will have to finish up tommorow.
Alot more work than anticipated, but well worth the headache. Not sure about in the states, but the dealers here wanted almost 4hun for the set. I got mine, both peices incl. S/H for just over a $100 on ebay & with the current exchange ima laughin! HAHA.. screw you lordco!

I have been thinking about a billet grill. I have a white 2000 XLT and it is impossible to keep the grill clean. It takes forever cleaning all the little squares, but if I don't it looks like crap. It wouldn't be so bad if the grill was black, but being white, all the dirt shows. Plus it has that ugly blue thing in the middle.

Trust me Wick, Black is not easy to keep clean. Of all the vehicles i have ever owned, my blk expy is one of my fav's, but also the hardest to keep clean.
regardless the billet grills defin. make the suv look a lot nicer. Specially with that "blue thing" gone.

My '98 XLT came with a main and bumper billet grill. I really liked the way it looked, that was one thing that caught my eye before I bought it.

for the 98-02 Expy, I can take off and put on the factory grille without taking off the whole front fascia?
