Ok so the middle ring on the f150 fronts is 3"+.......so stick with low setting or do the readylift front and call it good.
Yup. Due to the different spring ratings between ex and F-150 we get more of a lift on each level than the F150s. I would not go above ring 2

To try and give visual info, I was at around 31” before the 4wd f150 Bilsteins and 34” height after. This is up front, and on the bottom ring.

So is this system superior to the readylift sst.....?

I can’t debate whether one is superior to another in technical terms. But I can say the Bilsteins are much firmer than the OEM shocks.

Also 95cooby said it earlier in the thread where this option provides the same amount of lift, while providing more suspension travel.

So can you use the bilsteins and make it work with CCD?

No, the CCD shocks actually have a solenoid to control the dampening. I didn’t even think about the CCD’s when I bought mine and was going to put the Icon kit on. I would loose all the cool features of the computer controlled shocks. So it has the Ready Lift for now. Not sure if there would be a bunch of codes after you unhooked the shocks. My guess is yes.

I have a question since some of you have done the research and/or installed the F150 5100's on your Expy. Did anyone look at the 6112 with the Bilstein Spring? The front end looks just like the F150's. I wonder if this is an option.

I also had 5160 on the rear, that was a huge difference.. Just curious.. To me it seems to have some body roll, and want to get that change and Hellwig Sway Bars.

Yes.
Someone on here has done it. If you are looking for more than a 1.5” lift it is actually probably a better option as you are getting the F150 spring rate and should run into less control arm to coil contact on big bumps if you don’t want to swap control arms too.
I am at 2” on 5100s and after 6 months of settling and bushing movement I have far more contact than I would like.
So I bought Fox 2.0s. Just need to install them tomorrow if weather permits.

I just want to ditch the Ready lift Spacers and I would/could change the UCA's as well.. I did on my F150 when I changed the set up.. I would like to feel more control and lees body roll. I'm curious how the Fox 2.0 come out, are you doing front and rear?

Fox does not have an option for the rears.
The only full coilover option for the rear of the Expedition at the moment is ICON and I can’t drop that kind of money.
So the 4600s and the Readylift spacer will stay.

I bought the BDS Control Arms awhile back thinking they were for all 2” lifted trucks. They are not so my clunk turned into binding. They are made specifically for the Fox 2.0s so I’ll be running a bit of a bastard setup but it will be better than the clunk.

Wish I could rewind and would have gotten the SPC Control Arms instead of the BDS since they have the adjustable balljoint mount and would still be able to run the 5100s.

Member Aces on here has/had Halo Boss Coilovers up front with forget which UCAs and 4600s with a spacer in the rear and was pleased enough with it.
Hoping I will be also.

If I can ever squirrel up 2k I will throw the ICONs on the rear. They had 20% off for Black Friday this year. If they do again next year maybe.
But at that point I’ll have the motor out of my Mustang ready for it’s replacement and will need a stand alone ECU so if I am decently happy with the Bilstein/Fox setup no sense spending that much money on it.

Do you know if the Icon UCA’s will clear factory springs?

Don’t know.
All the BDS descriptions I found just said for 2”+ lifted trucks. I bolted them up and the knuckle tucked under coil causing binding as opposed to just the inside of the control arm contacting the coil like with the factory arms.

Took a peek at the directions and the fine print says designed specifically made for the Fox 2.0s and may work with some spacer lifts.
5100s are not a spacer lift which likely is the issue.

I am only presuming the SPCs will work because one can adjust the balljoint location. Likely pushing it out and away from the coil. But possibly not.
A crap shoot.

I’m really curious on the difference between the F150 front coils and the Expy coils. I would love to slap the 6112 on the front.

Expedition is probably a bit softer linear spring rate compared to the F-150 to give it a softer ride.

Slap away they will work just fine. One member on here has them and is happy with them.
Another member has Boss Halos and is happy with them.

I have Fox 2.0s to put on if it would quit raining on my days off.
