if you keep a close ear you can hear the plug loose way before it'll blow. its like a manifold tick/lifter tick type sound. it will get really bad and sound like a rod knock right before blowing.

mine has blown one, and i cought another before it blew by keeping a close ear to the motor. first noticed it in the drive thru at wendys.

YES! check your plugs as soon as possible! i caught my last plug that way. it turned out to be finger tight with 2 threads holding it in.

Damn i need to check my plugs, was looking to get them changed out soon anyways since i have no idea if they have ever been changed. Since I am not mechanically inclined how much will I be looking to spend to have just plugs changed do you think?

2000eb, if you do blow a plug, then let me know, then all it will cost you is the S&H for the Timesert kit and then buying a single Timesert ($12 plus S&H for that). All that I ask is you return the kit like you found it. That kit is better travelled than most people. It has seen a lot of the US. I only did what I did because I am **** when it comes to the truck and I wanted to take care of another problem while I was at it. That gave me a chance to port/polish the intake and heads to get some more power out of the truck.

99s. first year of major plug issues. also check your exhuast mainfolds. mine cracked, and it was really bad on the passenger side. so check those too.
