I have the lowly little sync screen system in the 2016.
Bluetooth just up and quit working. Keeps defaulting to Bluetooth Off. I hit the phone button and it says Bluetooth Off. Hit Ok and set to On. It goes back to the normal screen and won't connect to anything.
I deleted all devices and try to add new. It says Bluetooth Off. Bluetooth Set On/Off I set to on it goes back to the radio screen and for some reason keeps defaulting to Off.

Anyway to try a hard reset on the unit??

Well this is a hoot.
Sync Settings in the menu is no longer even an option.

No wonder I could not find the reset option when fooling around with it before.
It push the phone button I get the Bluetooth setting option that defaults to off.
I push the menu button and sync options are no where to be found.

Saw on YouTube where a guy had a similar problem. He pulled the fuse and reset the system that way on his wife's Mustang. This is similar:

If what @iimagine posted doesn’t work for some reason, you can try resetting it by holding the power and next track buttons together for six seconds. The screen should go black, then it should boot back up. It’s not a “master reset” and won’t affect saved settings or anything, but it’s worked in the past for me. Though I have SYNC 2, not 3.

Not had a chance to pull the fuse and fool with it.
Took a ride and wife received a call over Bluetooth had her turn on some tunes and it worked.

So while waiting on the kiddos this morning figured I would try to pair my phone again.
Sync still would not come up on my phone when discoverable nor would why phone come up when you have Sync look for devices.
I then clicked the add Apple Watch button all the way at the bottom.
HANDSFREE popped up and I entered the code on the radio and hit ok.
All the sudden Sync popped up on the phone and said connected. Then downloaded my contacts.
So I am up and rolling again.
