My 03 Expy is starting to get the cloudy effect on the lower body cladding (starting to turn light gray). Would going with a Duplicolor type of finish be ok or maybe going to something more durable like a bed coating or something like that be better? I just wrote Duplicolor to see what they would recommend. I want to do this myself since I am going to have to pay to get my tailgate repainted this fall (suffering from the paint blistering). Any ideas? I want to stick with a dark color. The Expy is dark red.

i've seen people on cardomain.com just paint it the same color as the rest of the truck...that'll be my suggestion

I used Krylon Fusion paint. It is made for plastic and works great. I used the black color with some shiny metallic in it. The paint has a very light texture to it, is easy to apply , and sticks to the plastic great. I got mine at Walmart.

clean it well and lightly scuff it up then use some adhesion promotor such as bulldog and then spray with bedliner or the krylon plastic paint... the key is in the prep work if you want it to stick
