Brake controller PLEASE HELP!

Hi I'm new here and i really need your help. I have a 2001 ford expedition xlt it has a aftermarket hitch but what looks like a factory installed 4 wire trailer plug. i know what i need to get to convert it toy a 7 pin connector but i can't find the brake controller plug under the dash. i see pics of the plug by the obd2 port and i have nothing there and i see some pics with it on the side of the radio and i have nothing there. I will like to know if anyone here can help me please. in going on a trip next month and will like to get this resolved soon. thank you to any one that can help me. God bless!!!

Welcome to the site. I deleted the other post since it was a duplicate of this one. It is better to only post it once so that all the replies will be under one thread. Also give the members a few hours to get online and answer back.

The connector should be a little farther back than the data port close to the pedal.

I have an '02 and I never found the brake controller plug. It has the factory 4 pin. I wound up adding a 30 amp fuse to the underhood fuse box and wiring the controller and 7 pin plug the old fashioned way.

To OP were ever able to find the plug ?.
I recently tried to locate mine on our 2000 xlt and can not.
i looked behind the radio no luck, on our 1998 its just next to the OBDII port, im really confused i want to use in the near future. I have heard of some being located near or behind the glove box but have not investigated.
