I have a 99 Ford Expedition. It did not come with a towing package. I installed the hitch and 7 way connector. There was a 4 way trailer connector already back there that hooked to my 7 way connector to. There is also a solid blue wire with a connector on it back there thats not hooked to anything. I'm guessing that is the trailer brake hookup to the 7 way connector. But I'm not sure.
My question is, I have read that there should be a existing connector under the dash to hook up a brake controller. Can anyone confirm this. I figured if it had a towing package factory installed, it would have this existing connector to hook up a brake controller. My expedtion did not have any tow package on it, but does have a dedicated electrical towing service off of the fuse block under the hood. And it did have the 4 way connector at the bumper and this extra heavy Blue back there not hooked to anything. So I figured there probably is more likely a connector for a brake controller.
Any information wqould be appreciated.
