Hello gang,
I recently bought a 2013 4x4 Limited w/factory tow package last week. It also has autostart! This is our first Expedition. Got it for a decent Alaska price. 72k miles. Got about 17.5 mpg on the first tank. That was a combination of highway driving, some stop and go, and some driving in deep snow and mud in 4A. We babied that right hand "go" pedal. It currently has Bridgestone Blizzaks for tires that are down to about 4/32th of tread. I would expect a slight MPG increase with AT tires over snows. Does anyone recommend a good tire? I was thinking of Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT tires. 2013 was the last year with the 5.4L V8 as you all probably know. We bought it to haul our family of 6 anywhere - and tow up to 9200 lbs. It is replacing a 2001 Jeep Cherokee with almost 300k miles on the odometer - bought it new back in the day. Any suggestions at all for our new vehicle from seasoned Expy owners would be most appreciated. Any mods/improvements/must do aftermarket options? We would like to install a DVD/infotainment system for our mini-me's riding first class in the back. So far we love the beast and hope to run it up into the 300k range with TLC like the old Jeep.

I don't think you're getting any better than 17.5 mpg, unless it's all cruise control 55-60 mph runs on empty roads

I'd search the Forum for tire recc's.
There is a thread on that about every 3 weeks.

2014 was the last year of the 5.4L. I'm also a Jeep Cherokee owner, have three of them at the moment. Absolutely love those things, reliable as hell (as you know with 300K on yours)
They just cant haul as much, or tow as much as an Expedition of course!
