Broken windshield

Washed my expo yesterday. It was 90 degres out, when the cold water hit the windshield it cracked from top to bottom. Just wanted to make everyone aware. It was sitting in the sun for a while and being early May the water is still cold. I'm bummed!

That sux! Are you sure there wasn't a small chip prior to the water hitting it? It would take a pretty SEVERE temp change to shatter the windshield like that without a starting point to crack.

as long as it doesnt leak.......new one done on my driveway cost 130.00....not bad.

cost me $800 cause of water coming in from above driver head at windsheild....between upper corner and rear veiw mirror.small leak traveled to driver side,ruin computer ect...

silconed it but getting windsheild redone b4 paint job.....

There are lots of posts on the internet of rear hatch glass breaking like that but not the windshield, must have had a lot of stress on the glass for that to happen. Maybe it's covered under your comp coverage?

that sucks, that windshield is very high tempered glass. not easy to break. like stoned said it must have been a big difference in temp for that to happen. keep us posted, what's that gonna run you. $130 in the driveway is not bad at all, but then youre doing all the labor.

Check with your insurance like Eric said...my last windshield cost $50 installed.
