Guys is it me or the expedit has a bumpy ride. After 7k miles the suspension feels little loose. The suspension dig into holes and bounce and vibrate a little like an old ford econvan. This thing gets old quick. Also my wife notice its very noisy when on highway. Its just not as solid as the same price euro or asian suv.

If you got a shortie, maybe you should've gone with Yota/Lexus/Infiniti... if you got the Max, there simply isn't a truck that size sold by any Euro or Asian brand, anywhere
Which version of the ltd do u have...300/301 which has std springs or the 302 Which has the ccd? Mines has the std springs which can mimic what ur saying. Which can feel a bit stiff at times and somewhat bumpy depending on the day. Other times is smooth as a luxury car either way its still better than anythinfg else this size. Ive tested the ccd which to me are way more absorbent, but loses the stellar body control. I noticed that the ppl with plat models ccd say their trucks ride smoother than the ppl with the 302 ltd and same springs. As for quietness, ehh in the rear it gets loud but in front no not rele. Only thing that annoys me is the suspension noise.
I’m at 40,000 miles with my platinum and I have never been more satisfied!!! It is the most solid interior and quiet ride of any vehicle I have ever owned. My brothers Denali on the other hand creaks and rattles over every bump in the road

Totally agree, my Platinum Max doesn't have as many miles as yours yet but just finished a road trip and it was bulletproof. I've owned the QX80 and it the PlatMax is more refined and quiet on the highway.

Ditto on smooth, quite ride. I have the 301 which has std springs/shocks but it still rides great. Sometimes the type tires/wheels you have, the air pressure you run in the tires has a lot to do with ride, comfort and noise. Mine came with the Toyo Open Country tires and I believe they are decent tires (normal asphalt/concrete) for the Expy. Off road I would prefer the Bridgestone TKO? off road tires.
Runnin tires on 34 to 36 helps. My wife just got a 19 cx5. Its extremely smooth for a compact suv. In all, i think my truck has a better hwy ride though the cx5 feels more vault like nd solid, and after driving many other suvs of different classes, the expy is still one of the smoother 3 row suvs even on its bad days. There is def a bandwidth of shock flexibility with ford suvs, expy included.
How not, its a lifted hatchback with light off road abilities. As much as ppl wanna debate it, crossovers and suvs arent different enough to be called different things, It's a marketing strategy to make suvs more appealing to women.
How not? It’s a crossover vehicle!! It shares a unibody substructure based on a sedan. While comparing it to the expedition, it couldn’t be more different. The expedition is a full body on frame design. Basically an f150 truck with built in bed topper! They are wildly different!

Good thing she didn’t test drive the CX-9, because she might have been spoiled by the zoom-zoom in a smoother package. We’re getting a 9 this week; drove the 5 also but it felt like a go-cart compared to the 9.

What you are describing are different aspects of each suv, not whether they are suvs or not. In suv is a vehicle you can drive on road but has off road and utility features like 4 wheel drive , hatch, etc which the cx5 has. Either way i use them for the same purpose its viable comparison for me. i was also comparing the vehicles when i saw sgt d also owned/owned a cx5. My spouse wanted the cx9, i wpulda preferred that myself, its a lot better than the cx5 and its a rele nice drive. Not over my expy, but for the class thats where my moneys goin.
Im sure ford will continue to fine tune the expys suspension further, particularly when the new gms come out so they can benchmark them.

Ride quality is completely subjective and honestly impossible to define. For me, the Expedition is the nicest, smoothest, quietest vehicle that I have ever owned and I have been completely blown away with how well it handle and rides both on and off road. I am also utterly shocked by how quiet it is, both on and off road. Its really hard to compare a CX5 with an Expedition...sure they are SUV's but that's like comparing a banana to an apple. Sure they are both fruit but...nothing a like. If the CX5 had a suspension setup to handle a 9000+lb trailer weight then we could compare ride quality. They just aren't even the same type of SUV, I think a CX5 would fit in the back of my MAX?
Anyway, I do think the CCD suspension rides a bit better but it is probably tough to get a better ride out of the expedition without some sort of adjustable suspension, air ride, adjustable shocks, etc. I have the base xlt so no fancy suspension for me. I honestly couldn't be happier.
I do notice a slight amount of bounce in the rear when the expedition is empty. Even just getting my 5 kids in the car and full tank of gas seems to calm that down. If the trailer is hooked up and we have 500+ tongue weight on it, everything is great.
I moved to the Expedition from a 2010 Jeep commander limited, that was 60k when it was new so definitely in the more "luxury" range at its time and the ride in the jeep (on and offroad) is trash compared to the expedition. Anyway, I can totally see how someone coming from a luxury car (acura, lexus, etc) could drive an expedition and feel the ride quality isn't the best but I would be hard pressed to say it is worse than ANY other full-size suv that can tow 9000+lbs.

I have the hankook dynapro atm tires which are set around 40 psi. Seems like I need to lower the tire pressure. I have a 18' with 30k Miles on this tire and I feel it can be very bumpy at times. However I am coming from German crossovers that typically had suspension upgrades.
I have a XLT 202A package not sure what springs.
Personally I live in Maryland probably need to swap the tire out to a better one could help. Would be okay spending money on better shocks and springs if given the option. Haven't really found a solid place that would do that for me around here.
