Has anyone replaced the cabin filter in the 2018 Expy? I'm not sure where it is or how to replace it. The last time I had the Expy at the dealer for an oil change they noted the cabin air filter's condition on the multi check list they gave me. I didn't think about asking the dealer the location of it.

Most times I get a 'warning" it involves return work. If it is so important why didn't they request my attention at the time? In other words I think it is just mechanics trying to impress their bosses. Then I have the suggested problem checked by another source.

I have 38k on my 11 Silverado. When I went to the dealer for an oil change they checked the in cabin filter and it was fine. Also, you would think if a cabin filter is 1/2 or 3/4 plugged the air coming through the vents would slow down a bunch, so, that’s when I would get a new filter, when the airflow from the vents is restricted. I had a dealer from another manufacturer tell me my filter was bad......and he showed me what was supposed to be my filter, clogged up with all kinds of crap. What he didn’t know is that I had just changed the filter a week earlier.....I told him that can’t be my filter, he said it was....I then told him I wouldn’t be back again for service and that I had just changed the filter last week.....and that you guys are scumbags....I don’t no where the filter is on my ‘18 but I’ll check it out at about 40k which is 37k from now. Of course diff areas of the country may change things as far as pollen and other pollutants go.

I replace the cabin air filter every 15k and the engine air filter every 20k. I definitely could go longer, but they are not expensive.

It’s just like the F150. Look on YouTube. I replaced mine already and took maybe 10 mins. Will be quicker next time because I’m familiar with it.

Basically drop the glove box, pull the rubber placemat, undo fasteners until you get to the HVAC door where the filter is. Pop open door, slide old one out and new one in paying attention to the way the old one comes out so you get the flow direction correct. Reassemble.
