Im getting a keyless entry/alarm/security system.

How easy would it be to install it myself? Thanks for any tips!

I actually installed mine on my own 3 years ago and havent ever had a problem. It is a knockoff of viper system, has a 2 way paging remote with a dual stage shock sensor and 1/4 mile range. Honestly the hardest part of the install was working up under the dash since there was no room, it was dark, and I was uncomfortable. I just got a wiring list off the12volt.com and figured it out as I went. I highly recommend a system with a 2 way paging remote, it has saved me twice so far

Was in the process of being towed and the alarm was freaking out so my remote was beeping at me, got to the truck in time before they took it each time. The alarm only cost me like $100 so it basically has already paid for itself

@ JT...what did you do for the bypass...just picked up viper 5704 and only have 1 key...will the bypass be an issue with one key?

Its good now...got second key and viper 5704 is installed...2 concerns though...I don't have the mile range but from what I've read...tint may prohibit the range...and it tends to cut off and restart after a couple of minutes on its on...could be due to using bullydog bypass...or bad unit...I did get it for $250...vs $500...

Yeah that mile range is under perfect conditions (ie. flat terrain, no buildings, not other electrical disturbance, on the outside of a vehicle) Most averages I see are in around a half mile.

Your right about the tint, it will definetly bring down the range as well.

When you say it cuts off, are you talking about remote start? That may just be due to the installer making the runtime shorter than you like. that can be adjusted.

It is set on default to run for 12 minutes...after 2-3 minutes...it dies...then restarts...started about 3wks after install
