cat question

On my 98 xlt I was planning on straight piping it. but after cruising the site i came up with another question. should i take of my rear 2 cats. Would that open the exauhst too much for a stock motor. I dont plan on doing any thing more than that other than the gotts mod and removing the mechanical fan. thanks

Several members have deleted the rear cats and say they love the extra hp higher in the rev range. I plan on doing it once I find an exhaust shop that isn't out of control on their prices.

yeah I would run some sort of a free flow muffler if you are gonna do a rear cat delete.... otherwise your low end is gonna suck if you don't have enough back pressure....

Thats what i figuered. Would there be a difference in performance if I were to keep all the cats and just straight pipe it?
