About 3 months ago I got a cell phone mount/holder for my 03. It is by far the best holder on the market. Here is the link

It comes in two parts---1. vehicle specific (the expy version mounts either on the right side of the radio between the radio and the trim...or above the radio-----i got the right side mount). and 2. a phone specific mount that mounts to #1.

My requirements were.
1. no drilling or sticky tape
2. must be secure

it passes both-----total for both pieces was ~~ $60----expensive--but it beats throwing a $500 phone in the console bin and fighting with the cords.

let me know if anyone wants another view.

I used your link from and it worked. Looks like a decent product. How has the unit held up since 2003?

There’s been a lot of advertisements for the WeatherTech item that fits in your cupholder. Personally, I don’t like that, as you have to look down to see what’s on your iPhone…accordingly, your eyes are not where they’re supposed to be – on the road.

I got this cheapo suction cup phone holder (< $10) off eBay, and it works/holds great. Just need to ensure that the glass and suction part of the holder are clean. Works great when you're looking at google maps for directions off your iPhone.

Panavise has made similar style mounts for years as well. They also have a HUGE range if attachments if you ever want to put something other than a phone on it. It also attaches a little further towards the passenger side and wouldn't be as likely to interfere w an aftermarket radio or larger device on it.

Both are good options, I like console clip mount offered in that link, would be a neat idea to have his and hers mounts.

I wanted to build a holder (out of cardboard or something easy) and put my phone up in the speedometer area. That way I could look straight ahead at Google Maps and not have to turn my head AND take my eyes off the road. Unfornicately … the screen blacks out with phone oriented like that with my Polarized sunglasses. If I bought a more expensive phone with an AMOLED display screen it would work. Maybe someday.

Auto manufacturers should enable navigation display in that area.
That would be the safest place. Looking over at center is not the safest.
