Center cap modification for f150 wheel

Got set of the f150 wheels for good price. This is what it looks like on the expy. Found out it is only about 1/8 inch stick out.

for the center cap, remove the metal piece, and drill a hole (please ignore the ugly cutting)use 3 layer of 3M auto tape to raise the metal piece and seal with silicone caulk.this is what it looks like on the wheel.

I just went with some 1/4" wheel spacers.

Lots of guys have trimmed the end of the axle shaft to avoid the issue as well. Lots of different solutions to run F150 wheels.

I have F150 wheels (2014 iirc) and they just fit as is

I cut mine down to fit as well on my 2016 Expedition. However, I have since added the Bora spacers. If I had done this mod first there would have been no need to cut.

By 'metal piece' I assume you are referring to the face of the center cap with the Ford logo. How did you remove that?
