Hi all,
So let me set this up. 3 years 27 thousand k ago bought a set of BOSH +4 plugs for my 2000 expy. Ran great ,loved the plugs and gas milage went up. About 8 months ago developed a top end tick, sounded like a follower going, not a big deal went away after about 2 min of running. Started shopping around getting parts and tools together to change them out, dont do one do all i say. 8 weeks ago started getting a shudder in 4th gear, touque converter shudder i was chaucking it up to. Again a usual problem with over 200k on her, its time for things to be replaced. So 3 weeks ago started missing and throwing a code, #7 coil miss. Not a problem, change the plugs and while in there im going to put new coils in too. Ordered a set of coils from e-bay, the $100 set for 8 of them and a set on NGK platium plugs. 6 and a half hours in minus temps to get them changed out, # 8 plug was at one point filled up with water and rusted in good, over and hour just for that one, can see the water mark on the boot. All said and done, new coils and plugs, top end tick is gone, shudder is gone and have gone from about 8 miles a gallon to just about 13 in the city. Hi-way is over 15 now. Moral of the story is problems start, dont count out plugs and coils as the problem. Posting the #s from new and old coils if anyone wants to compair them.
