Well at about 0900 hrs today I started changing the plugs on my '06 Expedition. I thought it was going to be a pain in the ass, but it really wasn't that bad. I have to be honest when I say I have worked on far worse. The only problem I ran into was I didn't have a compressor to blow the debris out of the plug well. I had to go borrow a friend's portable compressor and forgot to put my safety glasses back on when I blew out the dirt. Yeah, I got a face full of dirt and dry grease particles. Not fun.

Did exactly like I've been reading and loosened all plugs about an 1/8 turn then sprayed in some PB Blaster to eat up the carbon. HAHA, evidently I totally missed #8 because there was no liquid on the plug when I removed it.

After about 20 minutes for each side, I started to loosen very slowly. YAY!!!! I got them all out without breaking any of them.

I put in e3 plugs, which were highly recommended by basically everybody I've been talking with and saw on here a couple times.

Before all this I had a code coming up saying Cylinder 7 misfire, but I couldn't find anything wrong with the plug, so the Coil may be going bad. The hardest parts were getting to #4 and #8 but it was no hard than when I did them on my Durango. I just removed the computer and bracket to get to #4 easier.

I was so damn happy when the last plug came out and I had no foul ups. I put the e3's in (with anti-seeze) and buttoned it all back up. I then took it for a quick run to work out the kinks and found no hesitations or rough idle. NICE!!!!

Thanks for all your help guys. If it weren't for your advise I probably would have just taken it over to a mechanic. But now I would feel more comfortable doing it again or another person's. The mechanic for our city shop, and the mechanic I normally go to for a little advise, told me they normally just recommend taking the vehicles to the dealer.

Now for a couple videos I did on my quick drive.

Looking at the videos, is it normal for the shift points to be at 5k? I would have thought they'd atleast be 5200 to 5500 on this type of engine?

I need to take it out and do a 0-100 run. There is an airfield I can do it on but I don't know of there is enough room. I honestly don't think I've ever gotten it that fast before.

Hmmm........ My expedition is an 03 but my plugs didn't look anything like yours. Mine look like normal plugs. They must have made some changes for 06 model.
