Cleaning Lower Panels on 2003 XLT

Hi All,
Ok...I've tried Amorall....STP protectant.....Tire foam....Tannery.
What can I use to clean the Grey lower panels on my Exp.
Nothing seems to work and now I'm even getting streaks after it rains.

I haven't found anything that won't give you streaks after it rains.

I've tried a lot of stuff, too!!

I know it is not the solution for everyone, but I decided to just paint it. (As you know, since you particpated in my thread about doing it. )

Painting is not an option and I beleive that this is a warranty issue for Ford. People who pay this much for a vehicle shouldn't have to drive around with streaks on the exterior.

Have you tried "303 Aerospace Protectant"? It isn't cheap nor is it real easy to find, but so far, it seems to be working well on all of the plastic of our '04.

You can order online, but the great news is that you can try before you buy. I just went there and they have a link on the homepage to get free samples. I am going to give them a try, but the nice thing about my '98EB is the lack of all that extra cladding crap that the Expy's have all over them now!!

I'm not sure that it is Ford's fault that the products you have used fail to adhere in the wet.

However, if you used [Ford's suggested protectant, then I'd say you may have a leg to stand on.

Turns out that all of my unpainted body panels and such are going to be replaced under warranty due to fading. I'll have them painted up prior to installation.

If yours are fading then see your dealer about replacement. I hear the 04s don't have the fading problems. New plastic composition, I guess.

I remember you mentioning an Expy site some time ago. Did a little "googling" and found this place. Been lurking a couple of weeks as I didn't really have anything to add- until today.

On topic:
I purchased my 303 from camping world (www.campingworld.com). They have various sized bottles and fair prices. You might try a local RV dealership too. Many of the awning manufacturers recommend 303- that's why us RV'ers have it.

Seems I'M always a year off.....I liked the 04 cladding better but no cladding at all is best. Some people with Avalances are using Eagle 1 tire shine with good success. What does Ford reccomend for cleaning this crap?
