The black rubberized trim on my 2000 Expedition is looking rather mottled. It's also leaving black streaks on my hands whenever I happen to touch it, which is no fun. What's the usual routine for cleaning this stuff up and helping to extend its life?

The method what I did is: Clean them real good. Then I used a paint primer. then I used the paint used for leather and vynle repair (which was black) two coats and have not had any black stuff on rags when drying or when touching it. the paint is flexable so to me it works fine. I wished there was an aftermarket manufacturer who made these as ONS. I would replace all mine in a heart beat.
