Just got my refurbished OEM rims. They look great but I am thinking perhaps to add a coat or two of clearcoat over the refurbed finish coat. Also the inside of the barrels are powder coated and that area is a brake dust magnet. Should I clear coat that as well?

Any products suggested or to avoid?

If you do add a clear coat, be certain it is rated for hi-temps. Standard clear coats will yellow over time form the heat.

If the rims are powder coated you don't need to do anything else to them. The rattle can clear coat will just peel off anyway and ruin the nice powder coat finish.

Thanks guys! I had not thought about the heat.
My 2000 Viper GTS ACR came with clear coated, Chrome plated aluminum wheels. If you did a track day, they immediately turned a hideous Yellow. What a PITA to remove the wheels, remove the tire, ship the rims to Wheels-America, in exchange for same chrome rims with no clear coat.
