Clicking from under dash.......

1999 Expedition, E.B. Edition, 5.4 every so often I hear a lot of clicking from the dash area on the drivers side, almost like a relay going crazy. Clicking really fast, pause, click some more. After a few minutes it goes away. I have no idea of where to start looking...........

4wd? My 97 F250LD seems to do a test cycle of the ESOF circuit that got louder as it got older (sort of comes from behind the panel on the right side).
