I'm considering a cold air intake for my 03 Expy EB w/ 5.4L. Any recommendations? I'm also concerned about water ingestion, is this a real possibility with the after market intakes (K&N, etc).

my .02......I've got an '01, breathing thru a K&N system, not just the filter but the whole system. Just over a year now with 0 issues. I live in nor Cali, so I don't have issues with water or dust and all that other crap. Runs better than great, sounds awesome and I can feel a definite boost in power. Nothing tremendous, but I love it. Again, my .02

You can put a pre-filter over the filter.

Outerwears makes a good one, it repels water.
Plus, it keeps a lot of dirt and dust from ever reaching your filter, so you don't have to clean/oil it as often.

Wet filters don't flow air, thus choking your engine.

I was considering the 77 series from K&N for my 2003 4.6. I am going to team it up with a chip from Sniper Tuning.
How easy is it to install a CAI, and is it even worth it? Where could i get a decent price for one? Or would it be better to just keep the stock intake and just change the filter to a K&N.

I got my K&N cold air intake from Jegs. The installation is a piece of cake. I have a 2003 5.4 and it was basically color by numbers. I definitely noticed some giddiup. I live in Ohio and wash it out and re-oil 1-2 times a year. I've had it on for 40k miles. 78,000 miles strong on the beast.
