I was looking at getting a specter cold air intake. I hve a 5.4 EB and I was wondering if it will give more horsepower and if so how much? Also will it help MPG?

When I put my K&N filter into the truck, I tracked RPM's before and after, and with the new filter it ran about 100rpm's less at the same speeds with a paper filter.

yea...i use it. its been on my 4.6 for yrs. a little better on fuel. no biggy. do plugs at same time you install spectre intake like i did.....then youll feel a bit more of a difference.
yup...i did both...THATS why i felt a little difference. spectre alone i wouldnt of felt much i think. $170 i paid yrs ago for spectre intake. if you noticed.....the stock air intake takes from fender which IS cold air intake, just more restricted flow i think.....just a thought....lol
Understand But my question was, Was it the plugs or the CAI that gave the improvement. Being you did both at the same time it is hard to tell how much improvement was done by either or if it was just the plugs alone that made the improvement or just the CAI alone. And if it was both how much of a percentage would you say each made an improvement.
Its like taking your car to a mechanic and telling him what the problem is and when he tells you that he replaced 3 or 4 parts and the problem is fixed you will never know if it need all the parts or if just one would have cured the problem
