not trying to steal your thread but i am too looking for a cai for my 06 expedition with a 5.4. I have been told many things from many people, so i am kinda confused. I just found this one on jegs Granatelli Ford Gas Truck Cold Air Systems. It includes a maf with it. Has anyone ever used this one? Think right now i am leaning towards a airraid have heard good things about them. I had a volant on my 01 f150 with 4.6 and it did some funny things.

I don't have any input on the Granatelli intake, but I do want to know what funny things an air filter did to your truck..

After putting it on truck never seemed to run right. Had to change the iac value whenever i idleed it would sound like a fog horn.

Im looking for a CAI for my 98 expy 5.4. I was looking at the K&N and some others. What are you guys running? What about throttle spacers?

I suggest you get the K&N, it's cheap and durable. Mostly used by ride modders.

I agree on the K&N. I would say that I actually noticed a little less acceleration from stop, but much more passing power. Also, after about 3 months I had to replace the Idle Air Control (foghorn issue). I have had the CAI for around a year now and am happy. I will say that I am considering having a custom box fabricated with dynamat since the noise can be a little overwhelming for a family driver (especially along with the throttle body spacer).
