Hey all, as i'm taking a quick break from studying some boring. . . i mean awesome plant biology for my test in 3 hours, I'm just wondering how many of you are currently in college. Also what are all of your majors?

I'm currently a junior at the University of Wyoming. I'm majoring in Wildlife Biology. Finals are this week, and I have the luxury of having one everyday :) Can't wait to get done Friday, jump in my expy, head back to Iowa, and do some deer hunting this weekend!!

Graduated HS in 94 and finished my first degree in 2000.

I am starting my last semester at UF for another degree - BS in Emergency Services. Concurrently I will also start the Master program here.

Glad the semester is done, but the +/- scale sucks now. I got two A's and two A-'s.

thats what everyone says. but its hard being a pilot. im doing a 17 page project right now in my commercial class. the 17 pages is whats we have to turn in. the packet was like 30 pages. i want to meet the stapler the teacher used to stable the packet. but then all my avia buddys tell me to do maintenance. and thats still hard. haha i like to weld. i know it stinks and ill get all sweaty but in HS every chance i got i welded something. even these cheap chinese tables that kept breaking. grind down where it broke. put a got strong bead and repaint black. i even made a box thats still on the wall to hold the gojo. that box is never going to break. i just like to weld. might as well make a hobby a career that pays good too. and welders will always be needed. but i might get my private pilot licence at least. thats way ill still have flying to do too.

well if you like welding take classes and get certified especially in pipe. use to know a guy who did that. would go to alaska for a cpl months and be able to not work rest of year. but he had to crawl into tight pipes for boilers and such. or u could open your on fab shop. and when u do i'll take some rock sliders.

Well, I can't weld for crap... Good thing I fly for a living ;)

At the end of the day, a welder will have a much better chance of getting a job than a freshly minted pilot. My first flying job paid 15K.

I am also working on getting an adjunct professor slot teaching at local 4 year college. I also developed a scholarship program in my father's name to the aviation degree program there.

thats what i really want to do... open up my own fab shop. but my friend welds for general atomics and makes mad money. he just bought a new truck and is going to buy a house soon. he used to weld under water till he saw risk over pay. now he welds like a robot. literly. most of his welds look like only a robot could do. but i really want to is weld on off road trucks of some sort. make roll cages bumpers and what not. itll be kool.

well everyone has their own talents. i thought mine was flying till i realized theres a lot to do before you even fly. even for a 45 minute flight. all i learn is what if? so tired of that. luckly my last aviation class is next thursday, but its also kind of sad. all the people that are in my class have taken the classes with me. but ill get over it. all the people were kool. some own planes like a Cessna 172 and someone owns something else but i forgot. and other people have a boat load of hours so it makes me look small. but ill miss it.

but that scholarship is kool. what school is for? maybe i can tell some of my class mates about it.

I enjoy welding to. I've done a bit working millwright construction the last two years. Finals went decent, and now I'm home for a month. Decided to leave last night and got back a 3 in the morning so I would be able to do some deer hunting, but didn't go as planned. Went through a blizzard in Wyoming and took an hour and a half to get from Laramie to Cheyenne (usually half hour), it rained the rest of the way, and turned into another blizzard 40 miles from home. I never even left the house today. A high of 5 degrees with 4 inches of snow and 45 mph winds. Hopefully will be clear tomorrow tp allow for some hunting.
