considering an X pipe.

I already have a true dual exhaust with flowmaster 40 series mufflers, i want to get a little more sound out of it still, would an X pipe make it louder or not really?

cutting out the 40's and putting glasspacks or straight pipe would lol.

I just got back from the shop where i had them cut out my stock muffler and replace it with straight pipe. No popping, just clean, deep sound. BUT you already have duals so yours would be crazy loud

an X pipe would smooth out your exhaust... since true duals are seperate the X pipe would make the exhaust flow more continuous since the two streams of flow would equalize... my next exhaust will be the same as I have now just add an X pipe

X pipe is better for hp vs h pipe. H-pipe is old school. X pipe is the new thing. As walnuts said it will help smooth out the exhaust flow. It is quieter than h-pipe though. Makes older 5.0's sound kinda like a v6.:hmm:

That's what I always thought. But on Gears, Stacy went over to Heartthrob exhaust, they showed dyno results of a 12 or 13 hp difference between an H pipe and X pipe on some new car. Their point was that every application is different and you can't just generalize.

put in an xpipe you will be happier. here is a pick of both x and h And a description from the person who put them on his vettes

Compare the two. The H section is joke. The size of the holes into the "H" are

about 0.7" or about the diameter of a nickel. For good or bad, the X-Pipe is

free flowing nearly full diameter from either inlet to both outlets.
