New here and by no means a pro with cars... here's what I know...
2001 Expedition 4.6L 2WD 170,***.

Was driving one day and it cut out but started right back up. A couple of weeks later on the way to the hills, the oil pressure gauge went low and then came back up. it died going up the mountain. Wouldn't turn over at all. Got down the mountain and it started to crank but wouldn't catch. Here's where the fun starts!!!
-replaced fuel pump and fuel filter (wasn't getting fuel at all and now it is)
-replaced ignition coils and spark plugs so it's getting spark.
-replaced the IAC valve.
And.......NOTHING!
There were no codes when we started this process ... no check engine light ... but when we hooked it up tonight it said P1131

I have 2 mechanics who have been working on cars for YEARS and neither one of them can figure it out. Help! We're open to all information!!

Tell your mechanics to check engine timing in relation to camshaft timing. It may be off.

P1131 - Lack of HO2S-11 Switch, Sensor Indicates Lean

A HEGO sensor indicating lean at the end of a test is trying to correct for an over-rich condition. The test fails when the fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time.

See Possible Causes for DTC P1130

P1130 - Lack of HO2S-11 Switch, Fuel Trim at Limit

The HEGO Sensor is monitored for switching. The test fails when the HO2S fails to switch due to circuit or fuel at or exceeding a calibrated limit.
  • Electrical:
    • Short to VPWR in harness or HO2S
    • Water in harness connector
    • Open/Shorted HO2S circuit
    • Corrosion or poor mating terminals and wiring
    • Damaged HO2S
    • Damaged PCM
  • Fuel System:
    • Excessive fuel pressure
    • Leaking/contaminated fuel injectors
    • Leaking fuel pressure regulator
    • Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel
    • Vapor recovery system
  • Induction System:
    • Air leaks after the MAF
    • Vacuum Leaks
    • PCV system
    • Improperly seated engine oil dipstick
  • EGR System:
    • Leaking gasket
    • Stuck EGR valve
    • Leaking diaphragm or EVR
  • Base Engine:
    • Oil overfill
    • Cam timing
    • Cylinder compression
    • Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2S(s)

Welcome to the site.

Since the cel isn't on that means that code is historic and not currently active. Instead of tossing parts it is faster to run basic diagnostics. Even though it has a new fuel pump, how much pressure is on the fuel rail? Good that it has new plugs & coils but how do you know it has spark?

If either mechanic has a decent scan tool you can monitor the signal from the various sensors - crank and cam etc.
