I bought a 2000 EB 5.4L on 2/7/05. I got a dealer to agree to sell it to me for $12,999. I am really happy with it, because it is nearly perfect. The only things wrong with it, are a crack in the winshield and the fact that the cruise control doesn't work.

Does anyone know anything about how I might check to see if it's not some kind of simple disconnection, fuse, relay, etc?

I'm asking, because I found a disconnected cable that had elec. tape wrapped around it. It seems to go to an orange connector on the end of the master cylinder resevoir assembly.

Can anyone help?

There was a recall some weeks ago on the cruise control systems that started fires on 2000 models. It was advised to disconnect and tape up until the dealer gets the parts. no worries.

the recall had something about the CC being disconnected until the stealerships had the correct parts to fix the problem. sounds like your truck might have had the first step done. i'd say call the stealership and ask just to make sure, and to find out when to bring it back in to get repaired.

Thanks guys! I guess no one at the dealership where we bought the Expedition thought it was worthwhile to mention!

my uncle has the F-150 2000 model. he got the recall notice, and when he went to the dealer they told him that there isn't a fix yet. they don't know how to fix the problem so they are just disconnecting it to keep it from igniting and burning your truck up.
