Did a Crutchfield search for my 03 XLT, and all the Nav/receiver units say they don't fit my car. Does that mean modification required??
Sorry for the newb Q's

No modding needed. They fit just fine.

The 'modding' required is so minimal that I can't believe that they even mention it.
They say the same thing about the Sport Trac. We put a double DIN receiver in despite their warning. No problems.

It's probably a CYA thing. I was looking for a double din for our old SUV and a lot of them needed some clearancing of the opening. I imagine enough people have complained that they have to put it in as a warning.

I have a second generation and there was no modifying at all.
