Cup holder

The cup holder sticks and you have to tap it quite a few times to get it open.
Then it will only open part way and you have to pull it out by hand. I also noticed a wire behind it that seems to be attached to it and has been cut, any ideas where this wire goes to

Just want to know if anyone knows where the wire that comes from the back of the cup holder goes to. someone cut it off.

There is a tiny useless light bulb in the cup holder. Thats what the wire goes to.
