Deep Scratch Repair

I must suck at search, because i refuse to believe this hasn't been discussed before, but...

I recently went through a ****** car wash that scratched my roof, several long scratches down to the metal. Filed an insurance claim, they looked at it and cut me a check for $914, which is what the shop said they'd charge to fix it.

Soooooo... I'd rather do some mods to my truck with it, so who's got a good solution to fix my roof. Doesn't have to be showroom perfect, it's on the roof and I'll eventually have a basket covering it, but i want it to at least not look terrible.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm all up for DIY, but I'm a noob, so instructions or tips/tricks are great!

I have something similar on mine, and this summer I am going to try and use something like bedliner and a little blue paint to seal it up and hide it somewhat. It wont look perfect (or good for that matter) but it will atleast slow down the rusting factor, and like you said, its on the roof, so no one will ever see it. Just a suggestion.

Well long term, maybe by the end of the year, I'd actually like to bedliner the whole truck, but for now my main goal is to prevent rust.

Than ks for posting the vid's - they were timely since I have a couple scratches to remove this weekend.

...and I had to laugh and re-watch the second video to count how many times the guy says "OK" during his 7.5 min video..(40 times! -grin).
