Couple weeks ago I took my wife and two daughters out on there first deer hunt in our Exp. It was a good afternoon hunt and never pulled the trigger but did we get a deer, yes. On the way home we put the smack down on one. Main thing is that no one was hurt. My poor Expedition has had one hell of a year! I just purchased this in Jan 17, timing chain fail in March with only 107,00 miles = new motor, and now this.

I have only been able to put maybe 4,000 miles on her this whole year. But I am trying to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I had an estimate on repairs done and will be receiving a check from insurance shortly. With the money I will have a body shop replaced the fender and will hopefully have enough left over to make some upgrades.

I have talked with a custom bumper shop in town (CK Fab Bumpers) and will hopefully be getting one made up after body work is done and straight. If it weren't for the dang fender being tweaked I wouldn't need the body shop at all because most of the damage is bolt on stuff I can replace myself and majority won't be replaced anyways with the custom bumper. The worst part is that the color will need to be faded into the door and hood to match. O well though, if I can get the bumper I have wanted from the beginning then so be it.

I am planning on getting everything fixed in a couple months after the holiday season has passed. I was hoping to get a lift and my Raptor wheels on with new tires soon but that will be put off a bit now. I might have enough to put towards a lift and new rubber once front end is completed. Time will tell.

I'd consider Ebay item 202085792361 - its an estate green (paint code ST) driver front fender with molding, $300 shipped. Ask the seller for several detailed pics if interested.

see my avatar for my meeting with a deer in July doesn't look at that bad but all the stuff in pic (grill headlight, bumper etc) plus my 2 front air bags, module and sensors, seat belts had to be replaced along with the radiator and condenser

$7200 later its fixed. I had owned it for 3 months when this happened

At that price you'd think they'd total it out, I'm surprised

my ride is in excellent shape. The adjuster from AAA worked to not get it totaled. Had about a grand to spare after it was all said and done

believe me I was worried sick they would total it

The insurance check is in the mail and I can't wait to get everything started. I did a little TLC to my Exp recently by using some zip-ties to temporarily reattach the part of the inner fender that broke off to prevent the engine bay from getting nasty. In the process I bent the bracket on the front end of the fender back the dent came out! The only thing wrong with the fender besides a slightly larger gap between fender and the hood is just a little paint chipped off where I can patch it easily and without it being noticeable, so it looks like I most likely won't be taking it in to the body shop after all :). Once I get process started I will be posting pictures.

My Expy will be headed to bumper shop on March 14th. I am having a hard time deciding on powder coat or bed liner and which color. I can only do one color and leaning towards green. I have the bed liner guy working on trying to match the factory green and the powder coating shop can't match it. I don't really want to go with black since I don't think it will look good with the tan trim. I did purchase a factory gray grill and headlights with the black housing not chrome so the front end will be darker then before.

Should I powder coat or bed liner bumper?? Go with green??
