I just recently upgraded from my 2003 Expy to a 2010 EL. I had HID in the 2003, and miss the lights. I'm torn between LED or HID. The downside to the HID's was that even with the direct battery relay harness, they still flickered a bit. In regards to the H13 bulbs in his vehicle, are these lights tied in with the Canbus? I cannot find a definitive answer to anything. I'd like to get LED's, but don't know if I need the kind with Canbus or not. What about HID, are they affected with the Canbus? I've also read about the f-150 crowd that some had issues with the autolamp, some did not. Does anyone have some experience with any of this so I can make a educated decision? Thanks to all

Well, I guess my question is, does anyone with a 3rd gen have LED headlight bulbs installed? Or HID's? If so, any issues with the CanBUS?

I just did mine today and the fogs also. 8k hids high beeams are not hid though but that kit is more expensive for bi hid. Zero problems. They flicker at initial turn on but thats the ballast lighting off the bulb. Other than that looks really good. My superduty has had hid hi and low for over 4 years with only dead ballast once or twice.

I had 6k HID in my 03, also had an occasional ballast issue. I was just thinking of the new LED, because they use so little power. But I just don't want the electrical issues if there are any. At least with the HID, I know they drain plenty of power not to confuse the Canbus
