My '01 gifted me an engine code (believe it was P0136) and I determined the cause was either the (1) O2 sensor behind the RH/passenger cat or (2) the PVC hose that routes from the RH valve cover to the back of the intake.
The hose was $32 and the O2 sensor $30 or so on Amazon. I picked up the hose from my local Ford dealer as I forgot to add the hose to my cart before checking out
So far after replacing the PVC hose/line, no more check engine light. I have not yet replaced the O2 sensor, as the leaking hose may have been causing the code.
My question for you guys is this: What do you recommend about sourcing all the various vacuum/emissions hoses that plumb around the throttle body and upper intake? Mine are in pretty rough shape, with some of those hoses molded with specific bends/twists/ends. Has anyone done this? Or do you just piece together with whatever is lying around? Don't think I'll get another 120k out of these rubber hoses. Thanks!
