i bought my truck in september when home on R&R from afghanistan. got it from a highly recommended used car dealership in tn. the truck had brand new tires when i bought it like five miles to be exact. i see everyone talking about leveling kits so i started looking at mine. from ground to center of wheel well its about 37 inches in the front and 36 in the rear give or take a lil. i am 1 inch taller in the front. and that is with 265/70 r17 tires. any ideas it rides like a cadillac so i dont think stock torsion keys are cranked. does the rearend have any type of spacer stock? :hmm::shrug:

2000eb, since you have an Eddie Bauer, you would not benefit from cranking only the torsion bars as the air ride suspension would simply lower the pressures in the bags, therefore causing the truck to lower itself. But, there is an alternate way which would involve repositioning the height sensors, which could alter the height of the vehicle. So, if you look at the height sensors and you see a second pair of holes to mount the sensor to, then the previous owner did the sensor relocation to gain some free height.

I think the rear is roughly an inch lower stock, that's why you can get 2.5 or 3 inch rear spacers for your rear coil springs, and about 2-2.5 inches out of a torsion twist to level the truck, but like thermo said, you have air lift, so it adjusts itself.

Who ever said only EB's had air bags? I've got coils and plenty of other people on the forum with Eddie Bauer's do too.

my friends step dads 02 xlt has bags. its just more common with bags, nvy and nuts both have ebs and have coils. i agree with thermo with the assumtion. makes sence. but still. not a big deal. as for lift idk. only way to really tell is see if you crank the t bars. if you can then no lift. also the 99-02 expos are lifted high from ford then the 97-98s.

When it came to EB's, you had to special order them without the air ride suspension. If you got a basic EB truck, it came with the air ride suspension. That was part of the EB package. As for the XLT's having air bags, that was an upgrade that you could have added to the truck. For clarification, the 4x4's got a 4 corner system where the 2wd trucks only got rear leveling.

ill have to look in my manuals. i dont remember exactly. but the difference between the 97-98 and 99-02 is about an inch. so not a BIG difference, but you can tell if you look.
