do i need to reset cel?

Is it absolutely neccesary to clear to cel if I replaced the bad sensor that cuased it? Or will it go off after I drive it for a while?

I think some check engine light codes will automatically clear themselves after a certain number of successful startups, but I don't know how long that takes to find out. If it's the O2 sensor than you may have to clear it manually, possibly unhooking the battery for a while could do it?
