Anyone found a good dog barrier for the 18s? The main reason I wanted bench seats was to avoid the big hole in the middle that would tempt my dog, but with a good barrier maybe I could put up with the buckets.

It's a 100 pound dog, so something more sturdy than those little metal rod barriers would be best.

These look nice, but I'm wondering if the 18s are too new for them.

Hi there, seems like the 2018 Expedition is too new as for now, that may be the reason why the vehicle specific car barriers are unavailable for it at the moment.
However, there are so many dimension-specific pet barriers, just step in to check our selection of Car pet barriers at CARiD.
Hope you will find something for your Expedition there.

I don't know the answer, but I do know you should get one.

Our dog, 70lb lab mix, jumped in the back seat onto the bucket and put a nice 1" tear in one of the seat panels. I believe Ford made this interior a bit too comfortable and sacrificed on durability a bit. Same dog and a bigger dog jumped in our 2013 hundreds of times and didn't make a mark.

Anyone have any luck? I just ordered my Max FX4, and need a barrier. I ordered the cargo protectors from Canvasback. I had a similar setup in my XC90, but that was OEM from Volvo (as was the steel divider)

It won't stop an untrained dog, but my new CanvasBack liner includes a piece of canvas that closes the gap between the buckets.

I saw one while looking at the bumper step from weather tech.

scroll way down to the bottom, pet accessories, there is a dog barrier.
I use one of these in my 17 with 2 greyhounds. With all the seats folded down they could walk right between the front seats onto the center console. This does nicely.

I paid full price when I bought mine with the floor liners.

I am quite happy with my Remington. It is adjustable and works well.

Two suggest jobs to sturdy it up a little bit.

Cut two 2x4 pieces 4” long and drill a hole (just a touch wider than the metal rod legs) 1” deep in the 4x4 section and use these as feet for the legs.
Makes it much sturdier.
(Hopefully that description makes sense)

Once you get the mesh part adjusted to the proper size. Use zip ties around the areas that overlap to keep them from rattling.

We have one of these originally purchased for our 1998 Explorer and now used in our CRV. It works well and is adjustable for both width and height. I place it right up against the 2nd row seats and add a small cushion (foam, folded towel, etc.) between the top plastic foot pads and the roof liner. That way I can add a bit more extension/pressure w/o marking the liner.

Thanks for the suggestion Black. I went with the larger one from them, and hope to have it for next week. I'll cut & drill the lumber for the feet for sure.
