double din receiver

I have a 1999 Eddie Bauer with the Mach audio system. Has anyone installed a double din receiver in this thing? It looks like theres enough room on the face plate to fit one, but Crutchfield says it won't work. Is the problem like ,not enough room in the back or somthing else? Is this going to be a custom install and if it is ,whats involved?

it can be done... a little trimming is needed in the back of the dash to make it fit... but many have done it in f150s.... google them and its the same steps
