I heard a strange noise when closing the drivers door of my 2002 Ford Expedition. I tried the power window button and when I did the interior door handle popped outward, the window slid down and I am unable to unlock or open the drivers door. Is this all due to the electric motor or do I have more going on?

remove the door panel and check as it appears that something came loose Do not pry the panel off check on you tube or goggle to see how to remove the door panel remove the door handle and a few screws and lift up on the panel.

Mine did the same thing about 4 hours ago. My son was driving home from a basketball game and everything just cut loose. I tried to take the door panel off, and it appears that the inside door handle broke loose from its mounting point, or that the mounting point broke away from the door. Having a tough time getting the rest of the panel off to see what all is damaged. Can't determine if the window cut loose from the brackets or whether it just dropped down into the door. Anyone else had this problem, and if so, what is the best way to handle the situation?

Where are you located in PA I'm near Harrisburg There are 3 screws and one bolt that hold the panel in place The bolt for the door handle one screw in the side marker light one screw behind the switch panel on the arm rest and one screw behind the small panel on the upper front part of the door panel.

I am in southern Lancaster County, near Holtwood. Managed to get the panel off, although it took some manuevering. Turns out someone had re-routed the rod from the door handle to the latch, and apparently it hung up on the window track when it was opened while turning a corner. It knocked the window off track, bent the rod and bent the door handle unit. Fortunately, I was able to straighten things and re-anchor the handle and reattach the window. Everything is working fine for now.

The bar that leads to my driver's side key cylinder has been broken for years. I had trouble with the same type of thing where it would sometimes get caught in the regulator. I ended up duct taping it down inside the door to just keep it still and has been fine since.

I tried to get the parts to fix it, but Ford does not catalog those. All the guy had was a fishing divider filled with various sizes. I gave up trying to get them to fit. Glad you got everything to work correctly again!
